What does "WiiN" mean?

WiiN stands for “where is it now?” A question we constantly asked while spending hours and hours trying to track down our assets.

How long has WiiN been in business?

We may be a newer start-up company, but we’ve been in the construction industry for over 20 years. Like you, we’ve experienced the frustration that accompanies tool management and we decided that it didn’t have to be this way. That’s why, in 2013, we founded WiiN and spent the first year and a half developing our concept. We officially launched the WiiN app in 2015 and continue to make improvements as the industry evolves.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Instead of a money-back guarantee, we offer a free 30-day trial that will allow you to test our tool management system and experience what WiiN can do for you. We will work tirelessly to ensure that you are 100% satisfied during your trial.

On what devices can WiiN be used?

The WiiN mobile app runs on iOS and Android devices. The administration console can be used on any modern, up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, including mobile browsers.

Can I use WiiN on my tablet/iPad?

The WiiN mobile app works on all handheld devices, including tablets and smartphones. We’re currently working on a tablet-optimized version to make your user experience even better.

Do I have to install any software?

The only software to install for WiiN is the mobile app, available on your iOS or Android device. The administration console is accessible via Internet browser on any device.

Do I need Internet access to use WiiN on my mobile devices?

Yes, the WiiN mobile app leverages Internet access to communicate with the cloud-hosted database where your tool inventory is stored. You must connect your devices through WiFi or your cellular provider (your normal data rates will apply).

Do I have to use your labels?

Technically no, but we highly recommend them. We’ve already completed all the work to find the best labels to use with our tool management system. We researched and evaluated many different labels and chose the ones which are most durable for the work environment of construction sites. Our labels are rated to last 7+ years in outdoor use. They are also included in your one-time implementation fee with a WiiN subscription.

If you would like to print your own labels, our mobile app and cloud-based inventory will still work. The only requirement is that the encoded values of each label are unique among each tool entry. WiiN supports other barcode formats in addition to QR codes, but obviously we can only guarantee compatibility with our labels that have been tested and approved.

How do I get labels? What if I need more labels?

Our labels are included in the one-time implementation fee that is required with your WiiN subscription. We provide you with a supply of labels based on the size of your tool inventory. If you need to purchase more labels over time, simply contact us and we’ll get you covered.

What should I do if a label is damaged or wears off?

No need to worry! When a label is worn off, simply attach another label to the tool. You can add the new label to the tool “details” without having to delete or remove the old label. In fact, for tools that may experience a lot of wear and tear, you can attach several labels to the tool, then scan and assign all of them to the same asset. This will allow you to scan any one of the attached labels when regulating that tool from the WiiN app. See our implementation guide for best practices.

I already have a tool management system, so all of my tools are labeled with barcodes (or similar), but I want to switch to WiiN because it is so easy to use. Do I have to relabel all of my tools?

Absolutely not! The purpose of WiiN is to save you time when it comes to managing your tools! If your tools are already labeled, we would only need to test our app to make sure your labels are compatible. Although WiiN was built to support the barcode standards that we use with our own labels, there is a good chance it will also work with your existing labels. Contact us and we will be happy to work with you.

How do I transfer tools from my existing tool management system to WiiN?

If your existing labels are compatible with our app, we’ll be happy to help you import your tool inventory to WiiN. If you need to replace your tools with new labels, we’ve also got you covered. Contact us to find out if you can use WiiN with your existing labels.
